Piazza San Marco…a la Vegas
This zodiac clock caught my attention, while strolling the Strip near The Venetian Hotel during my recent visit to Las Vegas. It’s a replica of the one housed in the St. Mark’s clock tower on the Piazza San Marco in Venice. Stay tuned for more Vegas architecture and oddity photos coming your way this week.

June 27, 2011@JanWinther–astronomical clocks have special mechanisms and dials to display astronomical information, like the relative positions of the sun, moon, zodiacal constellations and sometimes the positions of planets. The St. Mark clock has an inner dial with blue globe that marks the zodiac position, in this case Taurus (mid-May-21 June). Thanks for commenting!
@Toad and Jim–Many thanks for stopping by and commenting! Really appreciate your support.
